Wavy Alabaster

Hi.

Welcome to my open journal. Read, sip and stay awhile. Cheers.

the world in rose

the world in rose

When the state of my reality seems nothing but gloomy,
Clouded with complication, worry and doubt.
I look to my vanity for those rose-colored glasses
And there, a better taste in my mouth.

I view a world with a softer hue,
It is inviting and radiates warmth.
There is limited contrast, less of a divide;
Perceived objects seem one with their core.

There is magic in their wearing
Awakening memory of what is good.
Flushing out the nice, the kind.
We should, but would we without this push.

There is sight without those rose-color glasses,
But vision becomes more narrowed.
My eyes highlight only the negative,
Even when positivity refuses to be left alone.

So when gloom casts over the state of your world,
Reach for a pair of glasses, rose-colored or not.
Just as your view alters, change your perception along with it.
See a softer world, because it’s not worth the fight.

Cheers, Jessa
